From the Principal's Desk

We had 2 grade levels recognized by the Georgia Department of Education for greatest gains on last year’s CRCT. 2nd grade was recognized for reading and 4th grade for math and reading. Congratulations to the teachers and students who worked so hard to make that happen!! We’re looking forward to another year of exceptional student learning and achievement!

Early release time for parent conferences has been cut from our schedule due to teacher furloughs. However, we still encourage you to meet with your child’s teacher to discuss his/her progress. If your child’s report card, standards-based progress report, or weekly papers indicate that your child may be struggling, please make an appointment to meet with the teacher. The sooner we identify problems, the easier they are to correct.

Jackets are already piling up in our Lost and Found. If your child is missing a jacket, remind him/her to check the Lost and Found in the lunchroom.

Do you have access to the internet? Are you using iParent? Do you check our school and RCSS website regularly? Does your child practice math and reading with Destination nightly? These are great tools to keep parents informed. If you would like help accessing any of these, call or stop by Rollins for assistance.

Parents- remember that you are invited to visit classrooms and observe anytime. We ask that you not interrupt instruction during your visit. If you need to talk to the teacher, schedule a time when students are out of the room. Even a “quick question” stops instruction. Teachers usually arrive a few minutes early and work past dismissal, so make arrangements to talk to teachers then. If you are here during our scheduled school day (8:00-3:30) we need you to sign in and out in the front office.
